A Showroom Move Around

A Showroom Move Around

From the Studio — A Showroom Move Around

A showroom never really stands still.

This week we have been moving things around in Malton, making space for a fresh arrival of pieces brought back from our latest buying trip in France. As ever, the process is less about filling gaps and more about seeing what happens when different periods, materials and shapes are brought together.

Among the latest finds are generous dining tables, upholstered armchairs and sofas, alongside artwork, decorative objects and smaller pieces that add character between the larger furniture. Some are quietly understated, others have far more presence, but together they have given the showroom a completely different feel.

Moving the space around is one of our favourite parts of what we do. A table that felt formal in one setting can suddenly feel relaxed when surrounded by mismatched chairs. An old painting can completely alter the atmosphere of a wall. A sculptural object placed in the right spot can make a familiar corner feel new again.

We have always believed interiors are at their best when they evolve rather than arrive fully formed. The showroom works in much the same way. Antiques come and go, new pieces from our Made by TallBoy collection are introduced, and the rooms constantly shift around them.

The latest French finds are now settling into the space, mixed with pieces already in the collection and our own furniture. The result feels layered, lived-in and a little unexpected — exactly how we like it.

The showroom in Malton is open for anyone wanting to see the new arrivals in person, and many of the pieces are also now available online.
