About this piece
This is a beautiful piece of Italian furniture. The base is late 18th/early 19th century with elements of restoration but all very well done. This supports an incredible 17th Century if not earlier top, which I believe is walnut but is hard to tell. The patina and wear is stunning and has a wonderful tactile smooth finish with dimples and clear signs of heavy use that only adds to the decorative merit of the piece. The original iron nails are also still evident. The size is generous and makes an ideal console table, dining table or prep table. The whole frame is solid and there is no major issues.
