About this piece
This is a very high quality 18th century Walnut chest on chest. From Scorborough Lodge. All original as far as I can tell and this piece wears its age handsomely. Other than a very small loss to the cornice and signs of historic wood worm is the base of feet which we have now treated there are no major faults. The colour of the piece is stunning and all drawers open and close smoothly. For me the simple design is what makes this piece particularly good as it can really go into any home work. The other benefit which is rare with these pieces is there is no musty smell in the drawers meaning you can use it to store clothes.
