About this piece
This is a really beautifully painted painting of what looks like a seated monk hearing the prayers or confessions of a girl. The size of the painting is very impressive and the quality of the work is very high. Its very hard to date as it has been re stretchered but 18th/19th century I believe. The subject is very thought provoking and because of the subtle colours and soft details it is very decorative as well.
