The Piece

About this piece

This is a great piece of art by Amateur artist Kate Carrick. Kate has had a passion for art for many years studying textiles and fashion while creating experimental artworks in her spare time. When I visited Kate I saw the quality of her art and I wanted to showcase it and try give her a platform to maybe take a passion and hobby into a full time career.

I purchased four experimental pieces from her and this one is charcoal and chalk and oil paints depicting rainbow trout. The texture and colour of the oil painted fish lifts the whole piece and works perfectly with the more subtle chalk and charcoal fish. There is an element of collage with this as well as the fish has been stuck over one another. Making it hugely decorative.

Framed with a black square and float mounted with in the frame. This can be hung landscape or portrait.
