The Piece

About this piece

These are a great pair of 19th century Pine dining benches. The length is ideal to sit 6 people per bench and the overall condition is very good. The pine has taken on a superb patina from years of use and is a deep honey colour which makes these very attractive. The overall design is very simple with a single plank seat and slatted back but there are some attractive details that give these a real quality. There are carved lines almost appearing like strung detail along the back rails, the uprights have chamfered edges which is a lovely touch and the colour difference in the seat where the legs join is very attractive. Solid condition.
