The Piece

About this piece

These are a fabulous set of 9 18th century Oak and Elm country dining chairs from a convent in Yorkshire. The quality of the chairs is very high and each one has plenty of character. Condition is also very good with each one remaining solid. The seat cushion is upholstered in woven horse hair material, a rare survivor with only one chair having a small hole. There are signs of old repairs but again all solid and just add to the charm of the set. There are 2 chairs that are very slightly different to the rest but clearly the same maker with the back shapes matching. The colour aswell is perfect and has aged perfectly.
