The Piece

About this piece

This is an untouched 18th century solid walnut coffee table. The top is incredible, the sheen, the patina, the colour all honest and could only ever have been achieved from years of use. The large drawers offers a generous storage place and runs smoothly. The whole piece is simple and attractive, made all the better for the top which is thick walnut planks.

The base has wear and evidence of historic woodworm, but all treated. The top has a loss to one corner but only adds to the character.

Condition report +

Original, well worn and patinated. But we wouldn't have bought it if it wasn't. The legs have clear signs of historic worm but all treat. Solid condition. Only replaced element is the drawer base.
